Minoru Jacket: Five Ways

Posted

We're in the middle of some gorgeous summer weather. On those cooler summer evenings by the beach, hikes through the forest or just a rainy day, a jacket makes for a cute layering option. And the Minoru Jacket in particular is on my mind, with the sewing pattern having been recently reprinted and back on the shelves!

There are so many different ways you can interpret this pattern to make it your own, depending on your climate, season or style. Here are some of my favourites, and inspiration for my next one!

SUMMER PRINTS:

Sue from  A Colourful Canvas created this amazing Minoru out of a bright, whimsical bird print.

WATERPROOF:

Rachel from  Welford Purls created this gorgeous grey Minoru out of a water and wind resistant synthetic – perfect for damp Vancouver weather!

DENIM:

Birgitte from  Indigorchid made her Minoru in a beautiful purple denim – using the wrong side, in fact!

WOOL & SILK:

Karen from  Did You Make That whipped up a cozy camel Minoru from wool and silk, warm enough to carry through into winter.

FORMAL:

Katharina from  Fröbelina used the Minoru pattern to create a beautiful coat for her wedding! (Winter is coming.)

Have you sewn the Minoru before, or do you currently have one on your to-sew list? What type of fabric are you dreaming of using?
