From work to weekend, this dress has you covered! The Cambie Dress is a fitted, fully lined dress with a gorgeous sweetheart neckline and flattering built-in cap sleeves. Great when you want the coverage of a sleeve but the comfort of a sleeveless dress!

This dress is designed with a pear-shaped figure in mind. Cap sleeves draw attention to the shoulders, while the narrow waistband highlights the waist.

Your choice of classic A-line skirt or full gathered skirt. Both skirt options feature pockets for practicality! Sizing is proportioned for a pear-shaped figure: smaller bust and waist, larger hips.

  1. Cambie love at first sew

Posted by Melissa on 18th Nov 2014

I love this pattern. I have tried so many dresses over the years - this one I adored!! I made mine from a dark navy polka dot seersucker and added ruc rac to the sleeve, waistband and top of the neckline. I feel so feminine when I wear it and get so many compliments. Can't wait to make more - love!

  2. Best fitting dress I've ever sewn!

Posted by Angelica on 17th Mar 2014

I am a thin and pearshaped girl with a "double, heart-shaped" hip, a slightly rounded shoulder and a small B-cup, and have become used to making several adjustments to store-bought patterns to make them fit me. So I made a muslin of this pattern. It. fit. PERFECTLY! No adjustments needed!
The dress itself sewed up beautifully, and the directions for the lining is pure genious!

  3. Marvelous!

I am a very beginner sewer and couldn't help but jump on the Cambie bandwagon as soon as I saw that dress! The first time I made it, I had some issues with the waistband and the pockets (which I still haven't ironed out, but I think I'll spend a weekend working with a muslin to figure out what I did), so I set it aside. The second time I made it, I was 3 days before a med school exam and didn't want to study and happened to have a red polka dot fabric that just BEGGED to be sewn :) It came together like an absolute dream! The fit is beautiful, minus some minor swayback issues that I need to tweak (still a beginner here!) and I got loads of compliments! Love this pattern!

  4. Great, flattering dress pattern

I got the cambie planning to make a party dress so I went with view b. From my experience with the minoru, I was a size 14 in the chart, but I sewed a size 12 and with some really minor alterations (I sewed slightly larger side seams and shortened the shoulder straps) it fitted me perfectly. I also moved the pockets more towards the side seams. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and I liked the extra tips on the blog (I also hand picked the zip). I got so many compliments on the dress, I'll have to make more! Highly recommended!
