The Crescent Skirt is a gathered skirt with a fitted yoke. Your choice of a slightly gathered skirt, a fuller gathered skirt or a longer, knee-length skirt. Optional trim or contrast topstitching highlights the fitted waistband. A great addition to your wardrobe!
This skirt is designed with a pear-shaped figure in mind. The fitted yoke waistband highlights a narrow waistline, gathers at the hip create a flattering silhouette. Slash pockets are easy to sew, and anything you put in the pockets is disguised by the gathering. Sizing is proportioned for a pear-shaped figure: smaller waist, larger hips.
Because of the fitted waistband, you can easily wear a top untucked, or tucked in! This skirt hits at the natural waist. The zipper construction is unique, as you can sew the whole zipper and facing into the skirt without any hand-stitching!
A comfortable, pretty skirt for all seasons!

This may be one of the most wearable skirts I've ever made. I used a cotton/linen blend to make view A, and it is soft, but also thick enough not to require a lining. I'd probably add a little length next time as I feel more comfortable with skirts that end just above the knee.

This is the first Sewaholic pattern I've bought. I love this design and I loved that it was made for us pear-shaped women. I made this pattern in 2 fabrics so far. The first narrow version made with quilting fabric turned out to pouffy, which was a pity since I went for the narrow width one to avoid exactly that. The second one was with a better choice of fabric but it still didn't work well. This waistband looks unflattering on me as it accentuates my belly.
